[Singapore Local Time - GMT+8]

This is my second flight on my trip from Hong Kong to Sydney. I took SQ865 which departed Hong Kong on 25 February 2017. You may click here to go to my flight report on SQ865. SQ865 arrived Singapore at around 11 p.m. local time. My connecting flight SQ231 departed Singapore on 00:45 local time and I had around 2 hours time for my layover at Singapore Changi International Airport.

Can you spot out SQ231 to Sydney?

So what did I do at Singapore Changi Airport? Having a walk in the terminal is a great idea, it takes you almost a day to discover the whole passenger terminals. However, going online to kill time is the best way for me!!!

Singapore Changi Airport got the Skytrax World Best Airport Award! Congratulations to SIN!
I really love this airport, however, I would say that their free wifi is not user-friendly enough. Unlike Hong Kong International Airport, where you just need to choose to connect to the airport's wifi on your mobile device. In SIN, you have to provide them with your mobile number so that they can send you an SMS access code. Another way is to find those Free Wifi kiosks. You need to scan your passport, and the system will generate a one-time password. Note that it is only available for one device, which means you need another password if you want to connect both your mobile phone and laptop.

If you have good sight you will be able to see that there were three queues at that night: waiting outside the information counter, transfer lounge service desk and finally, getting the password for the Airport's FREE WIFI!
Luckily, it is not too hard for me to hunt for this Free Wifi kiosks thanks as I spotted out there was a long queue.
You have to get into security check first in order to proceed to gate B1-B4
Gate B2.
A LONG LONG queue. There's a lot of passengers flying the A380 tonight.

This is my first time on the A380s. I booked this flight as soon as I saw Airbus A380-800 flying SQ231!

This photo was a bit blurry because I was too excited and my hands kept vibrating 😂

Singapore Airlines' Check-in counter at Hong Kong International Airport.
Check-in counters are managed by SATS (Hong Kong) Limited, which provides ground handling services at the Hong Kong International Airport.

SATS (Hong Kong) also offers passenger and ramp handling services which include baggage handling and load control. It is a subsidiary of Singapore Airport Terminal Services Ltd.
I don't know when will I have the opportunity to visit Hong Kong again. Anyway, see you soon, HK!
The new livery VH-QPJ (Airbus A330) parked next to my SQ Boeing 777-300ER.
3-3-3 seating configuration - typical seating config for B777s.
Seat Number: 45C (aisle seat)
If I travel by myself, I have no chance but to sit next to the aisle. I really want to sit on a window seat but then I need to stretch my legs from time to time and I don't want to disturb other passengers during the flight so aisle seat is my only option.

Nice Inflight Entertainment System (IFE).
This is the New Economy Class IFE.

Singapore Airline's New Economy Class features extra legroom and personal space. In addition, there is a new backrest cushion with bolstered sides on each seat, providing extra comfort to the travellers. The 4-way adjustable cushioned headrest provides more support to the passenger's head while sleeping. Lastly, KrisWorld Inflight Entertainment in the New Economy Class has been improved by offering an 11.1-inch wide touch-screen monitor and a video touch-screen handset. There are a selection of 1,000 entertainment options including movies, television programmes, music, games and apps. On selected flights, passengers can stay in touch with their family, friends and colleagues with Internet connectivity. The New Economy Class is available on SQ's A350-900s and retrofitted Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.

Mixed nuts are served before the dinner.
Special Meal order (SPML) - Low Salt Meal (LSML)
Note that the meal was prepared by Cathay Pacific Catering Services (CPCS).

I've ordered this iconic Singapore Sling.
It's special and you cannot find this drink on other Airlines' drink list.
Haagen-Dazs strawberry flavoured Ice-cream.

The interior skylight is beautiful!

The flight started to descend.

Can you spot out Singapore Changi Airport (SIN)?
This is what the captain wrote on my log sheet.

The captains and the rest of the flight crew were very nice! The captain invited me to the cockpit and we had a little chat. He said there's a lot of opportunities, and SQ is recruiting cadets. He mentioned that THE SKY IS THE LIMIT, and wished me Good Luck! Thank you Captain Lim and Senior First Officer (SFO) David!
